A	Alex McWilliam on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is our second stay at this hotel. The rooms are small and the en-suite is tiny but the location is perfect for us. The hotel is situated next to the old town where there are dozens of taverns and shops where the food never disappoints. The fish restaurants at the harbour are fabulous. The staff at the hotel are friendly and welcoming.

As vegetarians, we found a nice variety of options at breakfast and dinner every day - although there are also some great options locally too, including a new vegan restaurant (Let's Vegan) which is just a 15 min walk away (Ελεϋθερίου Βενιζέλου 14, Rethymno 741 00, Greece) They were also very understanding about the fact we had a dog in tow and did a good job of making sure she enjoyed her holiday too without annoying the other guests. They really went above and beyond on the day of the wedding itself. I was amazed at what they did for us on that day - SO thoughtful and kindhearted. We've stayed in places around the world that are supposedly famed for their hospitality, and have never seen anything like this before! All in all you could say we're the kind of couple a lot of hotels would find annoying (vegetarians/vegans with a dog who are getting ready for a wedding!) - but they did everything to give us the best experience possible. We loved it. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

G	Gillian Pearson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been visiting Hotel Ideon for a number of years now and have always had a thoroughly enjoyable stay there. The furnishings and accommodation are comfortable, well maintained and spotlessly clean. All the staff are polite, friendly and unbelievably hardworking. We have only stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but evening meals are available. The buffer breakfast is plentiful and varied. Snacks and drinks are available from the cafe/bar throughout the day. In the wake of Covid there have been some changes. At present the staff all wear face masks and visitors are requested to do the same while moving about the premises. Hand sanitiser is freely available throughout the hotel. Only 4 people at a time are allowed into the buffet area and you are required to wear a face mask and use the plastic gloves provided. The dining tables are sanitised after every use. Despite the inevitable queuing in the food area the delays are short and the staff do everything they can to keep things flowing. We are looking forward to our next visit.

View and balcony is of the port and parking lot or restaurants. Lots of facilities on site, restaurant with meal deals. Pool. Probably good place for kids. Beach didn't seem close, we didn't go. They have student workers who are awesome, help you carry stuff and explain everything in perfect English. Although our reservation had half board included that only meant breakfast.
I	Iga B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have just finished our one week stay at the Ideon Hotel in Rethymno. The hotel definitely deserves 4 stars. The location is great - right next to the port and close to the old town. The food is fresh, delicious and varied. The rooms are pretty, air-conditioned and cleaned daily. However, the best aspect is the hotel staff that is on the highest level :) People working here are very nice, cheerful, smiling and really helpful . I recommend this hotel with a clear conscience, it is amazing! Greetings to everyone, already from Poland :)
