The property was extremely lovely. The location and the room were perfect. The restaurant was beautiful and for the majority, everything was very nice. (4/5) However, there was an unfortunate incident. My partner and I were in the hotel buffet line to have breakfast, and the buffet manager accused us of not being hotel guests in front of the whole restaurant. After showing them our key card, they did not seem to get the message, and I had to explain the reservation name and our hotel room, and asked them to go check with the front desk. They came back, and still in front of the whole buffet, told us our room did not come with a complimentary breakfast, and the hotel would need to charge the room 8 euro. That was more than fine with us, especially since that is common in every other hotel we stayed at, without being singled out and embarrassed. Furthermore, we did not witness other hotel guests being confronted as we were. Sadly, I believe we were confronted for two reasons: Firstly, because we are young, in our early twenties, and did not fit the mold of the average age of the hotel guests. Secondly, my girlfriend is of non-Caucasian ethnicity, and we are both dark skinned, again not the typical guests at the Palazzino Di Cornia. It is unfortunate this happened, because it had not happened to us priorly in Greece, or in a long time in general. The buffet manager should have asked us to confirm ourselves as hotel guests in a manner much more appropriate considering the setting, and we could have resolved any additional payment happily. Charming hotel in a building of a bygone era neatly tucked away in an ally. Room was compact and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and went out of the way to help us. We were served a welcome drink upon arrival.

Wonderful hotel in the Old Town, just on the edge so you get the beautiful street and building without the noise and crowds. A short walk to the beach. Charming room, tasty breakfast and gorgeous little courtyard pool. The staff were all fantastic, and special thanks to the lovely gentleman who was so welcoming on our arrival, and who offered many tips for Rethymno and Crete more generally.

Beautiful old Venetian house converted to a hotel, and perfectly placed to explore the old town of Rethymno. The rooms are cosy with everything you need, and ours had a balcony too. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was really good here, and the hotel has a restaurant that I would also very highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for a week, with a TUI holiday. The hotel,is beautiful, clean and well cared for. We were in a suite, Kronos, which over looked a narrow cobbled street. We did find we were woken a couple of times, as any noise in the street echoed up to our room and sounded loud. We did get used to it though. The room was lovely, big four poster, sofa, TV, little fridge. Bathroom with hand held shower over the bath. We had breakfast, which was amazing, everything you could want. Ate enough so only needed small lunch. The little courtyard is so peaceful and pretty. The plunge pool too cold for me in April though. It’s right in the old part of town, near the harbour and old fortress. Brilliant to just wander round the maize of little streets. We loved it. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect week away after 2 years of covid restrictions.
