Let me tell you about a hidden gem in Tolo, Greece: Hotel Solon! If you are a family with children you cannot find a better spot no matter how hard you look. The number one attribute of Hotel Solon is its location. From its large veranda which offers a breathtaking view and accommodates more than 30 tables, you go down 8 steps and about 20 feet over the sandy shore to the water’s edge! The sea here is very clean, tranquil and shallow. You are able to see the sandy bottom of the sea and go into it more than 100 feet before you reach 6 foot depth. The current operators: George, Dina, and their son John have upgraded both the hotel amenities and the restaurant to the highest level we have ever experienced, coming here since 1972! In addition they have developed a steady, long term staff that is well trained and beyond courteous. The breakfast which is included offers a wide range of morning favorites, buffet style. Greek yogurt, rice pudding and pastries are included. Yes, you can splurge on your favorites. The rooms are clean, neat and with daily maid service. Each room has a shower bathroom, AC, TV, phone, refrigerator and free Wi-Fi. The restaurant which attracts non-hotel people as well features first and foremost a wide range of fresh fish that is caught locally, daily. In addition it offers a variety of the classic Greek dishes that are meat based as well as some dishes based on the Sun-ripened locally produced vegetables that the word delicious does not begin to describe. All and all, the feeling that overtakes you after a day or two at Hotel Solon is that you want to come back to this place. N/S F - Chicago

The owners and staff were super helpful and friendly! The location is excellent, beach is perfect, walking at night safe and comfortable with lots to see and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Free breakfast was great, room is very clean, a little small but perfect for our 3 night stay. Great location to drive to Nafplio for a day trip. We highly recommend the Solon hotel!

Don't let the terrible street sign and "pizza" on the sign deceive you. This place is not a tourist trap. View is amazing, service was great and the food was delicious! I had the best mousaka I've had for this Greek trip here! Also had Greek local white wine and very tastey local olive oil! Definitely a great place to grab lunch.

Good service and friendly staff. We arrived very late and check-in was prepared, so it didn't take long before we were in our rooms. If windy and rainy make sure the sun covers are pulled to cover Windows and doors. Ours wasn't covering the windows when we arrived and water came in. The staff cleaved the from as soon as they heard

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, and all of the staff was service minded and friendly :) close to long and shallow beach that is very family friendly with alot of good restaurants and cafes around. The hotel had a good variety of food if you didn't want to move alot. Thanks alot for our stay ❤ Knut & Dorina

Response to the owner's comment: First, I do appologise about my comment as now that I read it seems a bit too much! I also do understand that some tables are reserved for food only and that is perfectly logical and acceptable. If I was told, "sorry, we only have a table for food" I wouldn't mind at all. What probably caused me to say all this was the discussion between the people who asked if we are tourists or not. Just to clarify, they didn't ask me. That was a discussion between the waiters. Again, I might be wrong to asume that they would give us a table if we were tourists but either way no such distinction should be made. :)

This is quite a small hotel with direct beach access. The beach is one of the best in all of the Argolis with fine white sand and clear blue water, well sheltered and mostly very calm. The hotel has a large parasol area for residents and guests to enjoy a full hotel service. There is lots of choice locally since this is a well known tourist destination popular with families and couples alike.
