Wonderful place..worth to visit at least once! .. although I believe it will not stay in one!
Plus the others ... and wonderful food in the village!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Το μοναστήρι της Κοίμησης της Θεοτόκου βρίσκεται στην είσοδο του χωριού. Τα μόνα που έχουν απομείνει από την μονή είναι το καθολικό και τμήμα του ανακατασκευασμένου ισογείου της βόρειας πτέρυγας. Σύμφωνα με την ανάγλυφη κτητορική επιγραφή, το καθολικό, αφιερωμένο στην Παναγία, ιδρύθηκε στα 1633, επί αρχιεπισκόπου Γαβριήλ από τη Μηλιά Μετσόβου.
The monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is located at the entrance of the village. The only ones left from the monastery are the katholikon and part of the reconstructed ground floor of the north wing. According to the relief founding inscription, the katholikon, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, was founded in 1633, under Archbishop Gabriel of Milia, Metsovo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στην είσοδο του χωριού Σπηλαίου Γρεβενών,ευρίσκεται ένα πέτρινο όμορφο μοναστήρι,από τα παλαιότερα παραδοσιακά της Δυτικής Μακεδονίας. Σύμφωνα με την παράδοση,από το μοναστήρι πέρασε ο Κοσμάς ο Αιτωλός από το 1715 έως το 1719,που δημιούργησε ,ένα κρυφό σχολείο,που λειτούργησε για πολλά χρόνια.Δυστυχώς η μονή ήταν κλειστή,για να μπορέσουμε να δούμε το εσωτερικό της.
At the entrance of the village of Spilaio, Grevena, there is a beautiful stone monastery, one of the oldest traditional in Western Macedonia. According to tradition, Kosmas the Aetolian passed through the monastery from 1715 to 1719, when he created a secret school, which operated for many years. Unfortunately, the monastery was closed so that we could see its interior.
