★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The monastery of Kimisis Theotokou Voutsas or Votsas is located between the villages Greveniti (1 hour walking west of the village) and Dolyni and is about 45 km from Ioannina. According to tradition, the monastery was founded by Konstantinos IV the Pogonato. However, this view is historically not documented. The surviving building sign suggests that the katholikon was renovated and recorded in 1680 by the abbot Athanasios and the monks Nicodemus and Ananias. The minimal archival information about the monastery comes from an 18th-century manuscript known as "Chronicle of Bochas".
