Meals twice a day in a setting like in the middle ages. Fantastic.
Dormitory rooms.
Ceremonies and masses allowed to be attended but to different degree depending on denomination.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little piece of Heaven on Earth. The monks were warmly welcoming and interested in the pilgrims (including me, a clueless non-Orthodox). The icon of Saint Nicholas of the Oyster is moving. The experience is very memorable and intimate, and not just because of the size of the complex. I will remember especially warmly the kind and caring pater from Australia whose name I regret not recalling and the magical experience of the sounds of the liturgy mixing with the songs of the swallows.
I would highly recommend to anyone to stay the night. Pre-booking only by phone as there is very limited electricity in the monastery. There's a multi-plug outlet in the guesthouse to charge your phone, otherwise it's oil lamps at night, which just added to the experience for me.
