★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η μικρή εκκλησία της Αγίας Βαρβάρας, πολιουχου της πόλης της Δράμας και προστατιδος του πυροβολικου, γιορτάζει στις 4 Δεκεμβρίου εκαστου έτους και έχει χαρίσει το όνομα της και στο παρακειμενο θεματικό πάρκο, σήμα κατατεθέν της πόλης. Κτίστηκε το 1920 επάνω στα ερείπια παλαιότερου ομώνυμου ναού. Σύμφωνα με την παράδοση το 1380 οι Οθωμανοι είχαν γκρεμισει την εκκλησία για να κτισουν τζαμί όμως μετά από μια μεγάλη πλημμύρα το τζαμί δεν κτίστηκε ποτέ γεγονός που οι κάτοικοι απεδωσαν σε θαύμα της Αγίας.
The small church of Agia Varvara, patron saint of the city of Drama and patron saint of artillery, celebrates on December 4 of each year and has given its name to the adjacent theme park, a trademark of the city. It was built in 1920 on the ruins of an older church of the same name. According to tradition, in 1380 the Ottomans had demolished the church to build a mosque, but after a great flood the mosque was never built, a fact that the inhabitants attributed to a miracle of the Saint.
