Α	Αστέριος Χατζηθωμάς on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ναός του Αγίου Αθανασίου, αποτελεί τον κεντρικό ναό της δεύτερης ενορίας της πόλης, της Σύρπας. Είναι τρίκλιτη βασιλική και χτίστηκε, με προσωπική εργασία των ενοριτών, το διάστημα 1906-1911, με σουλτανικό φιρμάνι, στη θέση αρκετά παλιότερης εκκλησίας που βρίσκεται κάτω από τον σημερινό ναό. Η Σύρπα αναφέρεται ήδη σε οθωμανικό φορολογικό κατάστιχο από το 1454. Από την παλιά εκκλησία, ένα τμήμα από το ιερό της ενσωματώθηκε στην νέα εκκλησία, οι αγιογραφίες του όμως δεν διασώθηκαν. Η αγιογράφηση του ναού έγινε στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’20 (1923) από Λεχοβίτες αγιογράφους. Τα τελευταία χρόνια συμπληρώθηκε η αγιογράφηση της εκκλησίας από τον Τερπνιώτη αγιογράφο Νικόλαο Γκόλα. Μερικά κειμήλια του ναού είναι η παλιά εικόνα του αγίου Αθανασίου , το δεσποτικό, ο επιτάφιος και φορητές εικόνες. Πρόσφατα (15.1.2020) προστέθηκε στην ιστορία η υποδοχή του ιερού λειψάνου του αγίου Αθανασίου. Και επίσης το 2017 υποδέχθηκε κλήρος και λαός ακριβές αντίγραφο της Παναγίας Άξιον Εστί από το Άγιο Όρος. The church of Agios Athanasios, is the central church of the second parish of the city, Syrpa. It is a three-aisled basilica and was built, with the personal work of the parishioners, between 1906-1911, with a sultan's firman, on the site of a much older church located below the current church. Syrpa already refers to an Ottoman tax store from 1454. From the old church, a part of its sanctuary was integrated into the new church, but its hagiographies were not saved. The hagiography of the church was done in the early 1920s (1923) by Lechovite hagiographers. In recent years, the hagiography of the church was completed by the Terpnioti hagiographer Nikolaos Gola. Some relics of the church are the old icon of Saint Athanasios, the despotic, the epitaph and portable icons. Recently (15.1.2020) the reception of the holy relic of Saint Athanasios was added to history. And also in 2017, the clergy and the people welcomed an exact copy of Panagia Axion Esti from Mount Athos.
