★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στο χωριό Δάτο 11,3 χιλιόμετρα από την Καβάλα βρίσκεται ο Ναός του Αγίου Παντελεήμονα. Έχει ένα καμπαναριό ξεχωριστής τεχνοτροπίας που βρίσκεται ακριβώς πάνω από την είσοδο στο κέντρο της πρόσοψης του Ναού και τρεις εντυπωσιακές καμάρες που το στηρίζουν και ταυτόχρονα ομορφαίνουν την είσοδο. Αυτές οι δυο σπάνιες κατασκευαστικές τεχνοτροπίες αποτελούν και τα χαρακτηριστικά γνώρισματα του Ναού. Στα ενδότερα είναι λιτός σε αγιογραφίες, με έντονα γήινα χρώματα, ξύλινα καθίσματα και μεγάλα πλευρικά παράθυρα που φωτίζουν και οταν ανοίγουν δροσίζουν όλο τον εσωτερικό του χώρο. Θεωρώ ότι είναι από τους φωτινότερους σε φυσικό φως και καλύτερα αεριζόμενους ναούς που έχω επισκεφτεί. Πολύ πιστοί από το χωριό και από τις γύρω περιοχές τον επισκέπτονται ιδιαίτερα κατα τον πανηγυρικό εσπερινό αλλά και την επόμενη μέρα στην θεια λειτουργία κατά την εορτής μνήμης του Αγίου Παντελεήμονα που τιμάτε στις 27 Ιουλίου.
In the village of Dato 11.3 kilometers from Kavala there is the Church of St. Panteleimon. It has a distinctive bell tower just above the entrance to the center of the temple facade and three impressive arches that support it and at the same time beautify the entrance. These two rare construction techniques are the hallmarks of the Temple. Most of them are frescoed in hagiographies, with bright earthy colors, wooden seats and large side windows that illuminate and, when opened, cool the entire interior. I find it to be one of the brightest in natural light and the best ventilated temples I've visited. Many devotees from the village and the surrounding areas visit him especially during the festive evening and the following day at the Divine Liturgy in commemoration of St. Panteleimonas on the 27th of July.
