The full name of the Holy Temple is according to a marble slab: Holy Metropolis of Maroussi and Oropos, Parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary of Kalamos, Attica. The church is located in the center of the community and is essentially the main square, since it occupies almost the entire area. There is also a small fountain on the square. The simple lines with the white color have nothing to do with the interior of the temple. The interior is strongly dominated by wood. Wooden roof with large beams, wooden iconostasis of architecture and aesthetic beauty, wooden shrines. Interior decoration is not found elsewhere in the area. Particular attention has been paid to the iconostasis, as it is unique, with large letters in gold and old wooden hagiographies. The carvings are unique. The large and clean hagiographies depict saints and representations from the life of the Lord. The sacred contemplation surrounds the space internally. Externally, marble slabs inform us about the great benefactors Dimitrios Sp. Bouganiotis and Evangelia N. Kanousis. Also the fact that the installation of the radiator was done at the expense of the Konstantinos Fraggis family in memory of Konstantinos and Chrysoula Fraggis in 1990.
