★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We tried to think about anything negative about Ilissia. There is nothing that we could think of. On a hot afternoon, this is the place to be!
Very nice salads and very friendly waiters.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Locate inside the Byzantine museum. Though the place seem quite upbeat, the serving staff isn't, the waiting staff serves us took a good 10mins before attending to us, and when taking our order she was well distracted and we have to repeat ourselves twice to make sure she gets the order right. The drinks, oh well, my hubby's "Ice tea" was from a Lipton tea bottle and they charge €3.5 for it which I can easily get 3 bottles for that price from a supermarket. The "strawberry ice" was way to sweet and the "lemonade" does not taste what they claim to be "home-made", each charge for €4.90!!! in terms of food, we didn't try so can't rate for that, and ambience - oh well, can't comment as there's not many people there, and the table sat next to us left very shortly after they had their ice cream and cake, so I think it speaks for itself. Such a lovely decorated restaurant needs better improved service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice location and views. Kind waiters. Really good food. I would give it at least 4* if not a behaviour I do not like ... I got the full bottle of water without asking for 2.4 € and than apetizers with bread without asking again probably for 3.6 €. Only when I asked when paying.. I found out what it is. This is really dishonest behaviour that I have not encutered 3 previous days in Athens but I know it from other places ... It costs nothing to ask the guest if he/she wants ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only the location is worth it. Food and coffee quality is very poor and extremely overpriced. No WiFi, average service. For a single espresso and a cheese toastie (Lidl quality) we paid 7 euros.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely, serene garden within the Byzantine Museum. Quick, polite and efficient service. I have only tried the sandwiches, so I can't say much about the food but you should visit someday. It's an unknown jewel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I didn't even eat here, but asked if I could fill my water bottle ?. The absolutely LOVELY man who served us, and the waitress who filled the bottles were so kind- even handing myself and a friend extra bottles of water FOR FREE! Seriously, a kind and memorable interaction that made me smile for the rest of the day! Thank you for showing that there is still some goodness left in our society!!
