★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Following the suggestion of the owner of out hotel in Agioi Apostoloi we went to this restaurant in the village of Vatolakos. The place was over our expectations; the staff is very friendly the place has a very pleasant atmosphere and the food was exceptional. We ordered a few starters and some meat dishes. The food arrived after few minutes and it was all perfect tasty and handmade, fries included. We also ordered the local beer named Xarma which I highly recommend wine and water. At the end of a very pleasant meal we were also offered raki and the cake of the day. Another pleasant surprise was the dinner. With all the delicious authentic Crete food we paid 40 euros, so basically 10 euros each.
Portions were also very generous and the personnel speaks English and is able to make you the right suggestions. In a touristic island like Crete this place remains authentic both for the hospitality and for the quality of the food. Definitely to recommend.
