★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were at Kastro Suites for a 4-night stay in mid September 2020.
The view and location were excellent, on the north side of Fira and very convenient for moving around the island. The view from our window was of the pool and caldera, as well as a beautiful view of the sunset and volcano. Unfortunately, other parts of our stay were less enjoyable. We asked twice for the bathroom to be properly cleaned but the toilet remained dirty for three days, with a broken toilet seat (which was promptly replaced, however after we mentioned it). Twice we found hairs in the bathtub and bedsheets after our room was cleaned. The breakfast was okay, classic continental, and we also found a hair on one of the plates of food. Also worrying was the continued cough and not wearing a mask while preparing the breakfast. For a hotel with such a nice view and location, we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. The two star review is for the amazing view and location, however the quality of stay at such a high price was very subpar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great stay at Kastro Suites. Really in the center of Thira and a few minutes away from the bus station, its localization is really convenient. The room was comfortable and spacious and the view was gorgeous (perfect to watch sunsets). I enjoyed the breakfast : fruits, eggs, ham, salads, coffee, all you need. And of course, all the people working at the hotel were lovely and helpful. It was an amazing experience !
(NB : the swimming pool is very tiny, don’t choose the hotel for that).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a fantastic place to stay. The location was perfect - a few minutes from the main town in Fira but you also felt secluded with such an AMAZING view from the pool. Great breakfast, large comfortable rooms. Nothing was too difficult for the hosts to arrange (they arranged our wine tour, boat tour, car hire etc., and sorted us out with transfers) who also gave excellent non-touristy recommendations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful hotel, superior suites, unparallel view of the caldera. Excellent staff and attentive service. Private breakfast on your patio just cannot be beat. Expect a climb from dropoff on the street and an abundance of stairs, not ADA compliant. Worth the effort in every way. We would stay here again for certain.
