★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We decided to stop in the town of Geraki after our tour of the archaeological site of Geraki (a wonderful, beautiful — and free — site, by the way). It looked really pretty from the old castle. We were not disappointed. This cafe on the town's plateia is lovely. The waitress didn't speak much English, so all she could offer us for lunch was the big plate or the small plate. We split the big plate: cold meatballs, a sort of pork goulash, a local style of potato salad, and some ripped pieces of crusty bread drizzled with olive oil. Outstanding quality and flavor. As good as anything we've had in Greece. Add 2 drinks, and the total bill was 16€. This is the hidden gem, local experience that we all dream of. Stop here for lunch and get to know Geraki.
