★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Getting here was a challenge. Not many transport access near the train station but someone give us a lift to kerkini centre. Only managed to go on boat ride for an hour and it was awesome. €10 per person was a good deal and the host was very helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is very big and amazing. The lake is s-o big that you can not see the other side. You can find here a lot of birds what you can see only in natural Parks like this one. There are also wild animal like Buffalo or wild Horses. One of The most intresting things are The olive trees which are harvested at the begining of november. After all, if you cross the border from Bulgaria you can make a visit here because is only 15 km far away from The Main road to Thessaloniki.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a beautiful lake for a one-time visit, or when the season is right. Like when the flamingos migrate. Otherwise it's just enormous and you can't really catch the vibe, if you just go around it. Though going around it you might encounter the local farmlife, which is also interesting experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really beautiful lake. A must-see sight to visit if you are in Northern Greece. The birds and the water buffulos are a sight to behold.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect spot for bird watching, especially during spring and fall. You can see the birds from the coast. However, i suggest to arrange a boat trip, preferable early the morning. It tooks probably one hour. The boat is going much closer to the hidden places, where flamingos for example could be seen.
