Korfos Taverna - John Markellos

sailed to Korfos and spent some time at the Taverna. George the owner was lovely. Met him at the fishing boat and helped hime untangle his nets. Lovely spot to sail to . Free showers and Restaurant right at your door.

The rating doesn't have to do with the quality of food but how the Taverna owners treated the non Greek captain of a catamaran who tried to moore his vessel in front of their taverna at a free spot. They didn't only refuse to help him by throwing the lines back to the boat, but when the captain finally decided to step on the dock and do it by himself, the Taverna owners started pushing him - actually they nearly threw him into the sea - and swearing at him with the worst possible words. Eventually, and after humiliating him in front of his family and his scared kids that were sitting at the bow watching the incident, the captain decided to leave the bay... Later I found out from one of the owners that the reason for this fight was that a flotilla group was expected to moore at the empty spots in front of the taverna and most probably in return the flotilla would eat there! 15-20 minutes later I was watching the flotilla mooring there! I called Epidavrus coast guard - who by the way are in charge of Korfos harbour - and explained them the incident. They told me that they would investigate it the next morning. This incident took place on Sunday the 14th of July 2019. Six days later that I am making this review I still haven't received any phone call from anyone from the coast guard asking me whatever about that. I would like to deeply apologize to the catamaran captain for this cruel behavior and tell him that we, the Greeks, are very friendly and helpful people, but like everything in life there are exceptions...

If you come by boat, they offer quiet a good service. You can dock right at the restaurant and they help you doing so. They offer free WiFi, showers, water and energy. The food is good and reasonable priced. The location itself offers a nice view over the bay.

Absolutely lovely people, such wonderful food and service. Free docking here, and the owner is a genuinely nice personable person. The food is fantastic, would highly recommend the calamari. Definitely a place to visit!!

Very good place and a very helpful owner. They helped us berth, they gave us electricity and water for free and they made the arrangement to receive petrol from a village nearby. We stayed there for 2 days. We had both days dinner at the restaurant, even if they did not ask for it. The first day we had fish and the second meat. Both were fresh and delicious. I cannot recommend it more and I'll visit them again in the future.

We arrived by boat in the Korfos Bay. The apparently friendly owner of Korfos Taverna waved at us to moor at his quay, so we did. Later that night he told us his quay was private and we were obliged to eat at his taverna, something we didn't feel like doing and something he didn't told us when we moored. We tried to speak with him and offer him a fee for mooring at his quay, but he was not willing to talk to us and told us to leave (by night). A very unpleasant experience.

Loved this taverna over the others in this sleepy village. White House wine excellent - with a hint of apple taste. Fish prepared professionally. Owner extremely helpful. BTW, if you come with a yacht, you can dock right at the restaurant. They have mooring lines and 4M depth.

Great food at this lovely Greek restaurant. Not as busy as others nearby but we thought food was better. Also got ‘free’ dishes with meal - melon and stuffed aubergines. It’s possible to moor sail boats directly in front 4m depth or you can go up in a rib / row boat. Good anchorage in the bay.
