ανδριάντας του Κρητικού Μακεδονομάχου στην Θεσσαλονίκη Ως γνωστόν, ένα μεγάλο μέρος των Ελλήνων που πολέμησαν κατά την διάρκεια του Μακεδονικό Αγώνα στα βουνά και τους βάλτους της Μακεδονίας καταγόταν από το νησί της Κρήτης. Το έτος 2006, η Παγκρήτια Αδελφότητα της Μακεδονίας προέβη στα αποκαλυπτήρια του ανδριάντα του Κρητικού Μακεδονομάχου στο πρόσωπο το οποίου τιμώνται όλοι οι Κρητικοί αγωνιστές της μακεδονικής ελευθερίας. Το έργο είναι τοποθετημένο στην πλατεία Φαναριωτών επί της οδού Παύλου Μελά στην περιοχή του Λευκού Πύργου. Την κατασκευή ανέλαβε ο γλύπτης Γεώργιος Κικώτης. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι πομπώδες και μάλλον έξω από το ελληνικό μέτρο. Αναπαρίσταται ένας άντρας μέσης ηλικίας με μουστάκι και μούσι. Φοράει τη στολή του Μακεδονικού Αγώνα ενώ ξεχωρίζει η χαρακτηριστική κρητική βράκα. Στο αριστερό του χέρι κρατά πιστόλι ενώ με το δεξί κρατά το μαχαίρι το οποίο έχει ζωσμένο στη μέση. Στην πλάτη του έχει ριγμένη κάπα Είναι υπερφυσικών διαστάσεων και μυώδης γεγονός που στέκεται αρνητικά στο όλο σύνολο.

statue of the Cretan Macedonian warrior in Thessaloniki As is well known, a large part of the Greeks who fought during the Macedonian Struggle in the mountains and swamps of Macedonia came from the island of Crete. In the year 2006, the Pancretan Brotherhood of Macedonia unveiled the statue of the Cretan Macedonian warrior in the face of which all Cretan fighters of Macedonian freedom are honored. The project is located in Fanarioton Square on Pavlou Mela Street in the area of Lefkos Pyrgos. The construction was undertaken by the sculptor Georgios Kikotis. The result is pompous and rather out of the Greek measure. It depicts a middle-aged man with a mustache and beard. He wears the uniform of the Macedonian Struggle while the characteristic Cretan breeches stand out. In his left hand he holds a pistol while in his right he holds the knife which he has belted in the middle. He has a cape on his back. It is of supernatural dimensions and muscular, a fact that stands negatively in the whole ensemble.
