Κτήτορας της βιβλιοθήκης ήταν ο Τίτος Φλάβιος Πάνταινος, γιος του Φλαβίου Μενάνδρου, διευθυντή ίσως κάποιας φιλοσοφικής σχολής Σύμφωνα με την κτητορική επιγραφή, η δωρεά περιελάμβανε όχι μόνο το κτίσμα της βιβλιοθήκης και τα βιβλία αλλά και τις περιβάλλουσες στοές και το περιστύλιο, ενώ τέλος διευκρινίζεται ότι στο εγχείρημα συνέβαλαν οικονομικά και τα παιδιά του Πανταίνου, ο Φλάβιος Μένανδρος και η Φλαβία Σεκουνδίλλα Right in the heart of Athens, along Panathinaion Street and on the borders of the Ancient Agora, it was built between 98 and 102 AD. a library dedicated to the Athenians and the emperor Trajan. The owner of the library was Titos Flavios Pantainos, son of Flavius Menandros, director of a philosophical school. The children of Pantainos, Flavios Menandros and Flavia Sekundilla also contributed financially to the project.

Just more piles of rubble , although there is plenty of information dotted about the place to give you an idea of what it was like in its prime. Make sure you buy the ticket package at the Parthenon which includes entry here otherwise it gets expensive.
