★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Imagine this gate once was the West side entrance of the Roman Agora. The 4 Doric columns and their marble socles are very well kept but besides these there isn't much more left to see.
This gate was dedicated by the inhabitants of Athens to their leader Athena Archegetis.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Watch a couple dancing in live trumpet music in front of the Gate of Athena Archegetis with Jupiter near full moon above Acropolis as background is the most romantic moment. I have uploaded a 17 second video for you to enjoy. As a tourist, I managed to come back this place for 3 nights and the trumpeter never disappointed me. He leaves at around 10:30pm. Come near to have dinner and then it's perfect time to stop by this place after you finish dinner.
