★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nοτίως της περιοχής των Συμβόλων εκτείνονταν οι "χώρες" της Mαρώνειας και της Στρύμης, τα βόρεια όρια των οποίων δεν είναι γνωστά με ακρίβεια. Στην επίχωση του τύμβου του μακεδονικού τάφου βρέθηκε μεγάλη ποσότητα οστράκων κυρίως του 5ου και 4ου αι. π.X., αλλά και της πρώιμης εποχής του σιδήρου. Πιστεύεται ότι η κεραμεική αυτή πρέπει να σχετίζεται με οικισμό των ελληνιστικών χρόνων, ο οποίος δεν έχει ακόμη εντοπισθεί. Στην άμεση περιοχή του δεν υπάρχει γνωστός οικισμός, με τον οποίο μπορεί να συνδεθεί, ωστόσο σε απόσταση 1 χιλ. βόρειά του υπάρχει νεκροταφείο ελληνιστικών χρόνων. Ο τάφος εντοπίσθηκε το 1976, ύστερα από λαθρανασκαφή, κατά την οποία είχε καταστραφεί τμήμα της θόλου του θαλάμου, τα κονιάματα και η κλίνη. Ανασκαφικές εργασίες έγιναν το 1976 και την περίοδο 1984-1987 και διαπιστώθηκε ότι ο τάφος είχε συληθεί και παλαιότερα. Σήμερα το μνημείο προστατεύεται με περίφραξη και στέγαστρο, ενώ έχει πραγματοποιηθεί συντήρηση των κονιαμάτων και στερέωση των τοίχων του.
To the south of the Council area were the "countries" of Maronia and Strymi, the northern boundaries of which are not known exactly. In the embankment of the tomb of the Macedonian tomb was found a large quantity of shells, mainly of the 5th and 4th c. BC, but also the early Iron Age. It is believed that this pottery must be related to a settlement of Hellenistic times, which has not yet been identified. In its immediate area there is no known settlement, with which it can be connected, however, at a distance of 1 km to the north there is a cemetery of Hellenistic times. The tomb was discovered in 1976, after a illegal excavation, during which part of the cabin dome, mortars and bed were destroyed. Excavations were carried out in 1976 and 1984-1987 and it was found that the tomb had been looted before. Today the monument is protected by a fence and a shelter, while the mortar has been preserved and its walls have been fixed.
