★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The expansion plans are an ecological disaster, they tried to mislead people about the size saying that it doesn't expand its borders, but it actually expand beyond the footprint of the current marina. It closes off the underwater current that keeps vouliagmeni bay's water clean and fresh. They also degrade the wave quality of Athens's only good surf spot. Not to mention the pollution that will come from the ships and cruises in the closed bay. The environmental studies that have been released online are clearly luckster, lack any diagrams or proof that it does not effect the environmental. Whilst other ecologists that studied the plans cleary presented negative consequences.
The hotel owners could have easily built a marina on the other side suitable for their needs however, god forbid they destroy the view from their own expensive rooms. They decided to degrade the local environment instead of their own pockets.
