★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot. One star less for the strike on 01.05. Not fighting for anything, just tradition. Apparently 200 years old, as I was told...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Skopelos is a colourful island of the Aegean, resembling more to Cyclades Islands. Blue and white traditional houses, with amazing little streets and picturesque architecture, clean and full of flowers and plants, the small blue and white churches, colourful elements all around.
It requires a lot of walking to be seen, in streets with no car access at the old part os Chora, and a car to see places outside the main village. Nevertheless, there is a satisfying network of local buses and taxis to serve you with many routes and extended timetable.
The beaches are mostly full of pebbles and little sand, the waters are deep in short distance from the shore but kids seem not to mind particularly, a bit cold for my taste but crystal clear and amazing. The trees get down to the beach. Organized beach bar are few and with limited capacity, so one may not find ample space to be served. So you better have an umbrella of your own.
The tourists are mainly Italians and French, many British and other northern Europeans, and of course Greeks.
It is mainly a destination for families, completely safe (yet pay attention to the motorcycles that roam the streets) and enjoyabwby children.
In conclusion, Skopelos is a great destination for anyone, offering not something overwhelmingly amazing but an overall great vacation time for people who need to sit back and enjoy their time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice marina to stock up on water, electricity, and whatever else you need for you boat and family. The ferry creates some strong waves so make sure to berth accordingly. Some nice picturesque walks around town, and your usual tourist traps along the waterfront

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The bay inside the breakwaters is quite large, big ferries coming in so the sheltering here is limited.
When docked ‘stern to quay’ you look at an ugly wall, not the beautiful village.
No toilets and showers, which is a pity for a marina with over 40 yachts.
