Unique ... the owner explains and points to the guests. There are no words to describe it, the collection is from all over the world and the artwork is admirable.

Keine Eintrittskosten.

A cute small sized museum in the center of traditional village of Plaka, with some interacrive experiments using different sand / stones. Sand-handmade local art and souvenirs available. Owner is a geologist and explains all different sand species and takes you through a brief journey around. Recommended to have a look when in Plaka.

Great, free, little museum featuring different sands from across the world and many microscopes to check them out. The friendly geologist owner makes art out of the sand and happily showed us the collection and even sands from our own beaches thousands of miles away. Definitely take the time to step in and check it out!

This is definitely one of the places we will remember the most out of our trip to Milos. Asteris, the owner is a true artist, collects sand from around the world and presents it in a very interesting way which is intriguing especially to children. With the use of stereoscopes, one can see the grains of sand magnified and have a closer look at the material that it is made of. The artifacts made by Asteris are amazing too!
