Σε αυτό κατέφυγαν κατακτητές και κάτοικοι στις 14 Σεπτεμβρίου 1944, όταν οι σύμμαχοι βομβάρδισαν το λιμάνι του Αδάμαντα. Σε αντίθεση με την υπόλοιπη Ελλάδα, όπου οι Γερμανοί αποχώρησαν το 1944, η Μήλος μαζί με τα Χανιά παρέμειναν υπό γερμανική κατοχή μέχρι και την Πτώση του Βερολίνου και τη συνθηκολόγηση του Τρίτου Ράιχ, τον Μάιο του 1945. Το καταφύγιο έχει μήκος 400 μέτρα. Το μισό περίπου χρησιμοποιείται ως εκθεσιακός χώρος. Είχε δύο εισόδους και δύο εξόδους κινδύνου. Σήμερα, θα μπείτε από την είσοδο μπροστά από την παραλία της Λαγκάδας. The shelter was built by the Germans in the Second World War. This was resorted to by conquerors and residents on September 14, 1944, when the Allies bombed the port of Adamas. Unlike the rest of Greece, where the Germans left in 1944, Milos and Chania remained under German occupation until the Fall of Berlin and the capitulation of the Third Reich in May 1945. The shelter is 400 meters long. About half is used as a showroom. It had two entrances and two emergency exits. Today, you will enter from the entrance in front of the beach of Lagada.
A	Anastasis Demirtzoglou on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Βρήκαμε την πόρτα ανοιχτή και τα φώτα αναμμένα και ο κόσμος μπαινοεβγαινε είπαμε να μπούμε. Όπως γυρνούσαμε τα φώτα στην έξοδο ήταν κλειστά. Πάλι καλά με φακό από τα κινητά μας μέσα σε αυτόν τον λαβύρινθο βρήκαμε την έξοδο αλλά η πόρτα ήταν κλειδωμενη. Είχε αρχίσει να σκοτεινιαζει και εμείς μέσα. Πουθενά δεν υπήρχε ένα τηλέφωνο να πάρουμε. Πήραμε τηλέφωνο το 100 που μας έδωσε το τηλεφωνο της αστυνομίας της Μήλου. Εκεί μας είπαν ότι θα ειδοποιήσουν τον Δήμο. Μετά από κανένα 20 λεπτό μέσα στα σκοτάδια ήρθαν και μας άνοιξαν. Αυτό ήταν απαράδεκτο. Ούτε μια ταμπελα που να λέει ότι είναι κλειστό ούτε ελενξαν αν υπήρχε κόσμος μέσα. Ούτε καν ξέρουμε αν αλλα άτομα κλειστηκαν μέσα (γιατί υπήρχαν άτομα και πίσω και μπροστά μας). Ανευθυνότητα κάποιος πρέπει να πάρει την ευθύνη. We found the door open and the lights on and people were coming in and out we said to enter. As we turned the lights at the exit were off. Again well with a flashlight from our cell phones in this labyrinth we found the exit but the door was locked. It was getting dark and we inside. Nowhere was there a phone to pick up. We called the 100 that the phone of the Milos police gave us. There they told us that they would notify the Municipality. After about 20 minutes in the dark they came and opened for us. This was unacceptable. Not a sign saying it was closed, nor did they check if there were people inside. We do not even know if other people were locked inside (because there were people behind and in front of us). Irresponsibility one must take responsibility.
