Mastrapas was the absolute traverna-highlight of our trip. The location is really beautiful and the authentic greek dishes are super tasty - also others from the village have been there! Also really cheap for such a great quality! Would definitely recommend it.

One of the best places to eat in Chania. The dishes vary from traditional Cretan cuisine, to meat in the wooden oven and some more modern options. The prices are great and don’t forget to have some tsikoudia.

This was our first time in Mastrapas, but it will not be our last! We loved everything we ate; excellent salad made from seasonal greens with Misithra cheese, lokal potatoes, and the Graviera Saganaki with Apple chutney. Thereafter lamb Anti Kristo and pork Anti Kristo.(Anti Kristo means cooked beside the fire in the oven). The servings were HUGE, so remember that it is possible to share..... The porkmeat was good, but the lamb was exquisite! (I would always go back for the Saganaki!!)

We came to this restaurant thanks to recommendation of a local. She promised us a traditional Cretan food experience. The food was wonderful. They specialize in meet. They've had an amazing lamb and pork slow cooked in a very special oven that simulates their traditional cooking method. The meet was amazing but there was one other thing that crowned over anything else we've tried. One word: STAKA This ingredient deserves a whole book about it... thank you Mastrapas for introducing me to it

Authentic Cretan cuisine just 2 km from seaside away. Try Fava, Mastrapas salad, Tzatziki and fresh baked bread and continue with Pork or Beef from the grill. You will never forget it. Next time you can try everything else from menu, you will be amazed!

Lovely authentic Cretan meal! Lovely service, no rushing at all! The menu had a great selection and the smells of oven and the fire pit they had were amazing. Definitely worth the trip if you’re around the area!
