Ich kann sagen, dass mir der Weg dabei besser gefallen hat als das Ziel. Ein hübscher, nicht vom Tourismus geprägter Ort hat sich hier seinen natürlichen, griechischen Charme bewahrt. We approached the place from the south and had to walk through the village. I can say that I liked the way better than the goal. A pretty, non-touristy place has retained its natural, Greek charm.

Ne serait ce que pour le village atypique et hors du temps où il se trouve cela vaut le détour. Une vieille dame grecque nous a arrêté lorsque nous passions devant sa maison, juste pour nous offrir du raisin de son jardin ! Moment d'échange et de simplicité comme on n'en a plus l'habitude. Ce qui vaut les 4 étoiles Ok it's a very old Olivier but unfortunately it is not highlighted. If only for the atypical village and out of time where it is worth it. An old Greek lady stopped us when we passed her house, just to give us grapes from her garden! Moment of exchange and simplicity as we are no longer used to. What is worth the 4 stars

The “Sacred Olive Tree of Mathenas” and the “Ancient Olive tree of happiness”. The sacred olive tree can be found just below the little white church and the ancient olive tree is after a little walk towards a church just outside town. You will most likely get lost in town. It’s part of the experience. The trees are nice to see, but nothing mind blowing. The walk around town and to the ancient olive tree are the nicest part about the experience.
