★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over het hele eiland zijn minoische ruïnes te vinden, aanrader is om naar het hoogste punt te wandelen, via de rechter kant (vanaf het vasteland gezien) van het eiland loopt een pad naar boven. Wij zijn met de boot gegaan (€5,-retour PP), zwemmen is ook een optie.
Minoische ruins can be found all over the island, it is recommended to walk to the highest point, via the right side (seen from the mainland) of the island a path leads up. We went by boat (€ 5 return PP), swimming is also an option.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible ancient Minoan archaeological site located on Mochlos Island about 100 meters from the coastal town of Mochlos. It used to be connected to mainland Crete but the sea level has risen since then. You can swim to it but I recommend taking a boat. You can hire one from the taverna called To Bogazi. I paid €5 round trip. When you are ready to come back, you ring the bell located on the side of the church and the boat man will come and get you. Afterwards I highly recommend having a meal at To Bogazi: I chose my own freshly caught fish and it was delicious!! You can spend as much time as you want on the island and there are some signs explaining the ruins. This was once an incredibly important port in ancient times. Well worth the visit!!
