M	Marika Blackham on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matina and Stavros Tavern is an amazing place! The wonderful Greek mama was so sweet and genuine, we felt such a good connection. The food is traditional Greek and we had really good fried potatoes and a vegetable stew with artichokes. I would recommend this place for an authentic Naxos evening/breakfast!

No menu, she just brings out exceptional dishes made with produce from their family farm. you will eat to your hearts content! We dined here multiple times. Most romantic location.

They brought us a fresh pitcher of water and a starter with our wine, which is there own( a rose) We ordered what they had available(due to seasonal opening the menu was limited to 8 dishes) The food was homey and well made, absolutely delicious. The owner Matina, whom took our order and served us, is a wonderful energetic woman. The customers seem that they have visited before and acquainted with taverna. This was my second visit and surely not my last. I suggest a walk around the town and great for meditation if you find a good spot.

There is an incredibly calm and welcoming atmosphere and the whole dining experience resonates with being hosted by some very good and respectful friends on their private terrace. The drinking water streams through the mountain, reaches the nearby fountain and is then poured into a jug served to the table. The food is exquisite. Local produce of course, and cooked in simple but delicious ways. It is a little bit out of the way, but absolutely worth the trip. We will surely be back many times.

It is a delightful place set under the shade of trees and run by a local family. The food was traditional and authentic Greek. We had a plate of moussaka and pork in a tomato sauce. Rich and full of flavour. The bread was fresh and served with local sheep’s milk cheese. After lunch, we were given a home made pastry free of charge. Another wonderful experience in Naxos.

The whole family works in the kitchen and are very sweet. You don’t get a menu but get told what are the specials of the day. We had pork with lemon sauce, moussaka, aubergine salad and tzatziki. Every single dish was excellent and so delicious It really did taste like mamas food! The chips were the best chips I’ve ever tried. All in all, for authentic cooking you cannot miss this in Naxos.
