This ravine is crisscrossed with footpaths recently marked going by water mills, stone bridges, wells and a wealth of foliage. Hike through ancient oak, planes and elm trees and look for beautiful wild rose bunches on your trek.

G	Gregory Stevenson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The road down off the main road from the memorial is fairly smooth single lane no problem for all vehicles, but when you get to the sign to turn toward the gorge absolutely no chance of driving it even a 4x4 would seriously struggle. We parked at the top to the side of the road and walked down which was only 5 minutes anyway. The only sign we saw when there was for the little spring, we walked down a track until it split off, no sign to say which way so took one but because of heavy rain overnight we soon couldn't walk any further as would of needed some Wellies! The place looked nice but nothing like Nydri waterfall and gorge.
J	J on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware! It is a beautiful place. However, not safe and not worth the risk. I cannot in good conscience recommend it. If you get hurt you cannot call for help because there is no cell-phone signal in the gorge. We didn't know the path had a dead end and kept walking, hoping the worst was behind us. But you have to cross each broken bridge twice. Until they fix it, don't risk it.
T	Trish Cooper on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Melissa Gorge lies in a lovely unspoilt setting in Northern Lefkada, and it’s well worth visiting for a shaded stroll along the river. The access track and the paved paths are in good condition and are walkable in trainers/sneakers. However, it is not currently possible (or, at least, not safe) to explore the whole gorge. All the wooden bridges and most of the railings that were put in to make it a tourist attraction, and to allow people to see the deepest part of the gorge, have been broken for some time now.
