Very nice people. For 13 days they made us a special offer. 420 Euros for a cabriolet. Great deal, great service, great people !! I will hire here again !!

Mercury delivered car to the hotel on time. They are flexible, extended rent by one extra day for free. People are kind and communicative. Prices are competive to bigger rental companies. I can recomend Mercury for car hire in Kefalonia.

A car rental company without cars. They will also cancel your booking if your flight is late. You’d be better off walking. Go literally anywhere else.

We paid for the car in full 3 months in advance and when we arrived at Kefalonia airport at 14.30 on the day that the rental was meant to start they said that they had given the car away because they were expecting us at 11 am and that we can’t get refunded. Worth noting that we didn’t get any calls from the company during our delay to check if we were coming - probably because we rented it a while ago at a very good rate of 26 euros a day with full cover and giving it away to another last minute customer was more profitable. We were lucky to find another car but had this happened in mid August our holiday would have been ruined as there would have been no cars available. Being myself Greek I am always sad to see businesses like this ruin the reputation of my country. Needless to say this is being escalated and dealt with in parallel but wanted to also flag this to any other potential clients.

This agency literally SAVED our trip through Ionian Islands. We were looking for renting a car in each island we were going to visit. It was a fast trip (1 - 2 days in each island) and many agencies we contacted were only renting cars for 4 - 7 days minimum. Apart from this, we needed to pick up and drop off the cars in different locations (we were very dependant on ferries schedules), and other agencies had huge extra fares in order to let you do that. I found Mercury and everything was really easy: Cars reservation available only a week before the date, perfect communication via email/telephone (thanks Polina!), very good prices (even with an optional insurance), a lot of pick/drop locations through the islands, and the best part: They have an agency in each island! We finally hired 3 cars for using them in Lefkada, Kefalonia and Zakynthos and we haven't any problem. No extra charges, correct pick up and drop off locations, nice and friendly staff and cars in perfect conditions. We highly recommend Mercury for travelling to Ionian Islands, you won't regret! We were happy that we found a car mid-August 2021 in Kefalonia and that we could leave it in the hotel parking at the end of day when returning it. These are the positives from Mercury Car Rental. We're going to give a negative review though, because we paid full casco insurance and there were considerable problems with the car: first of all, the freon for the air conditioning was not full, leaving the air conditioning to run around level 3 at mid-strength (max. 4 levels for cooling), which didn't allow us to drive 1-5 p.m., because the air conditioning wouldn't cool enough around 38 deg. C or higher. This reduced the time we could travel on the island. Second of all, the carpet under the driver's seat didn't stay in place, which could have caused an accident, so the driver had it removed during driving. This is a serious safety issue, which Mercury Car Rental should have addressed.Thirdly, the car key remote didn't work. We paid 82 Euros a day plus the casco insurance and Mercury Car Rental can't provide us with a working key remote? We had to lock it like a manual car. That should have reduced the amount of money we paid a day, but Mercury Car Rental didn't give us any money back or offer us an extra day. Mercury Car Rental, you get customers' money without checking important details. Really?!? Fourthly, there was some work done on the engine and a screwdriver and a wrench were left under the hood. A professional car repair place would not have left those under the hood. They can move during driving and hit something in the engine. I wonder why the Fiat 500c we rented needed engine work done with 30000 km on board. Fifthly, this is due to Fiat bad quality, but the side mirrors shook with every bump in the road. That is very tiresome when driving, to check an image in mirrors which are shaking. Sixthly, we were told that the engine is strong, but this Fiat 500c was much weaker than my VW Polo. The hand break did not work great, so the car slid a bit on a 45 deg. angle slope. Lastly, your prices are comparable to SIXT car rental in Germany, which is too expensive for Greece, considering you are on an island in Greece. In conclusion, thinking about safety issues and quality, we personally will not rent from Mercury Car Rental in Kefalonia again. Not until we hear real positive reviews from customers. Hopefully you can fix these issues before serving other customers.

We only found them by accident walking along the street in Lefkada, main street in Nydri. We needed a car to go to Kefalonia from Lefkada as the car we had wasn't allowed to be taken on the ferry. They provided a near new car. Even though we were told it was a station wagon, it ended up being a sedan. Quick and easy as well as very well priced. I then called them and asked if we could take it from Kefalonia to Zakynthos, the answer was yes, no problem. All sorted in a quick phone call. Great service. great rates, and even-though we got a sedan, it was a great car in very good condition. I do certainly recommend them, it was pain free, which is not always the case with car rental companies.

Hired a car on Kefalonia for two days, I wasn't impressed with the age of the Fiat Panda, it was well used but anticipated that it would be well serviced. Filled the tank with petrol and off we went on our way. The car was very clunky to drive but it worked. The next morning we could not get the car started sounded like the alternator had gone. Thank goodness we were not stuck up in the mountains where we had been yesterday! So we walked around to the office and explained that our car with almost a full tank of petrol had broken down! They gave us another Panda and a much newer model,which they should have given the first time! When we took this back and again expressed our dismay there was no apology at all. Booking the car was also not straight forward either, no option to pay online instead had to send card details by Email, that's after they sent us the wrong form first. I would avoid if I was you, there are other rental firms on the island to use. Can I add that Mercury did not give us any free fuel, as the car that broke down had been topped up to the top by us and we only did one journey, then the car they replaced with was full however we only used 1/3 of the tank so Mercury actually owe us a refund! Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!!!
