If you are staying overnight at Meteora, I would suggest taking their guided tour the day you arrive, so you have taken in the view, and the expert advice, before heading to the monestaries. And if you're not going to the monestaries,... still book the guided tour. ;)

Keep in mind whole day reservations do not mean they apply overnight (24hs) They do give discounts with multiple day bookings. Definitely recommend their eBikes to bring you up but don’t expect to see all monasteries if you started your day after travelling from Athens and arriving at Kalambaka at 12pm. The bike brought me all the way to Vlachava (7km from the detour near the Holy Trinity) it was a 1z5h ascent but the ride down was fantastic in 30min… They were so kind to not charge me anything when I lost their night safety vest along the way. Definite recommend their tours or renting a bike if renting cars and Atvs is not the option for you!

A great experience on every level: the electric bikes were comfortable and easy to use, and provided us with flexibility to easily stop wherever we chose and to avoid all of the hassle of finding parking etc. at the monasteries. Our guide (Vassilis) is amazing: he knows the area inside out. Not only did he provide relevant historical and geographical information but also interesting anecdotal details that we would've never have learned otherwise. A very kind and excellent professional. So is Jenny who held the office. The guided experience lasted 4+ hours and they took extra good care of us, providing water and snacks (cereal bars), even a "skirt" for me to wear in order to enter the monasteries (mandatory for women). It was worth every minute and is highly recommended!

It was easy to use and a breeze going up the steep hills to the monastery’s as long as you’re not badly out of shape. The service by the owner was excellent and friendly as well. I highly recommend this to get around in the area.

Also, even better to rent the bikes and do the 4-hour tour with Vasilis as your host and guide, he knows the place and its history. Vasilis & Jenny are great in what they do here, very friendly and also willing to give hints on your stay beyond the bikes (that you will most definitely love as an experience).

During the exciting and at the same time relaxing tour, they will explain you the history and present of Meteora and its monasteries. They will take you to several beautiful viewpoints, also to appreciate the stunning sunset view over the region. The tour is a very pleasant bike ride, suitable for all ages!

Our tour guide was Vasilis, who was friendly, knowledable and interesting to talk to. The bikes are easy to use and provide strong power - you are not exerting much energy to ride up the hills! The tour stops outside all the active monestaries, and Vasilis provided heaps of information on each of them, including an introduction into how Meteora was formed and the history of the monestaries. As we knew nothing about Meteora beforehand, it was very comprehensive! Riding the ebikes is so fun, I truly recommend this as a way to explore Meteora.
