Find out more about Milos as well as it’s rich mining industry in the past as well as now. Great! However, the movies were not being shown. Good to take audio guide if you get tired from reading. If movies are not available they can be watched online!

Kind of overpriced as the museum itself is fairly small. There is a small collection of mining tools on the main floor, a nice collection of local minerals on the top floor, a projection of a documentary at the basement and that's it. The documentary unexpectedly is one of the best reasons to visit the museum, as it explains much about the culture of the island and how dependant its people where to mining. If you are interested in geology and minerals it's fun, otherwise I would not recommend it.

One wouldn't expect there would be such a well-curated museum in a small island such as Milos. But here it is. There are plenty of mineral samples and some that you're allowed to touch. Abundant information is provided as to the history of mining in the island and the geographical distribution of each mineral within the island. There's also a short film screening at the basement. Nice place to go after four consecutive days of outdoor activities.

Definitely a must see before you do anything else on the island! There's such a rich history of mining here with many exquisite ores mined through time. It was nice to watch the films on the old miners reminiscing about their labourous but rewarding work they used to do. The beautiful Katalina was incredibly welcoming and had answers to all my questions ?

A very interesting museum featuring the rich history of the island in mines. Two levels packed with nicely presented exhibits and a museum shop with many choices.

Worth the time and €’s. €7 with audio guide, €5 without. Takes about an hour with the guide or self-pace without. Built on 3 levels, it is Handicap accessible with entry ramp and wheelchair lifts on the stairways. The museum presents a good history of all the mining taking place on Milos through the ages.
