the negative criticism has to do with the ditching of this monument from its projection. I wonder if the people of Larissa know it themselves

Column copy found at the same spot and now hosted at the Timeless Museum of Larissa. It is worthwhile to visit the adjacent Roman road

Χρονολογείται στις αρχές του 4ου αι.π.Χ. και με το μνημείο τιμάται ο Ποσειδώνας από τους Θεσσαλούς ως θεός των πηγαίων υδάτων.
It is a votive column of white marble.
It dates back to the early 4th century BC. and with the monument Poseidon is honored by the Thessalians as the god of the spring waters.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η αναθηματική στήλη προς τιμήν του Ποσειδώνα Κρηναίου Πυλαίου, βρέθηκε κοντά σε πύλη των τειχών της αρχαίας Λάρισας και πιθανόν κοντά σε κρήνη. Η Θεσσαλία υπήρξε το πρώτο κέντρο λατρείας του Θεού στον ελλαδικό χώρο και διατήρησε την παράδοση της λατρείας όπως διαμορφώθηκε στα μυκηναϊκά χρόνια. Η επισημότερη λατρεία του στη Θεσσαλία με την επωνυμία Πετραίος τελούνταν στα στενά των Τεμπών, επειδή συνδέεται με τη διάνοιξη του στενού των Τεμπών και τη διέξοδο των νερών της θεσσαλικής πεδιάδας προς το Αιγαίο.
Επ ́ ευκαιρία της δράσης «Περιβάλλον και πολιτισμός 2010», αντίγραφο της στήλης τοποθετήθηκε στη θέση όπου βρέθηκε, με δαπάνες του Δήμου. Το πρωτότυπο βρίσκεται στο Διαχρονικό Μουσείο της πόλης αλλά δεν εκτίθεται...
The votive column in honor of Poseidon of the Cretan Gate, was found near a gate of the walls of ancient Larissa and probably near a fountain. Thessaly was the first center of worship of God in Greece and maintained the tradition of worship as it was formed in the Mycenaean years. His most official cult in Thessaly, called Petraeus, took place in the Straits of Tempi, because it is associated with the opening of the Tempe Strait and the outlet of the waters of the Thessalian plain to the Aegean.
On the occasion of the action "Environment and culture 2010", a copy of the column was placed at the place where it was found, at the expense of the Municipality. The original is in the Timeless Museum of the city but is not on display ...
