Ηταν τοσο καλα οχυρωμενο το σημειο αυτο απο τους τουρκους που θεωρουνταν απορθητο, η μεγαλη ομως απροσδοκητη για τους τουρκους επιθεση των Ελληνων δεν τους αφησε περιθωρια και με μεγαλο και βαρυ φορο αιματος η προελαση του Στρατου μας για την Ηπειρο και την Μακεδονια ξεκινησε εδω.
