★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great museum for all those interested in antiquity, machines, and history in general. There's a lot of information available on the objects in the exhibit but you can also just browse and walk around. A relatively small museum, filled with fascinating objects from different periods, painstakingly reconstructed and carefully presented by the staff. I would also recommend it for people with older children who want to try something different during their visit to Heraklion. The café offers a selection of drinks and it's a pretty nice place to have refreshments.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Privately museum exhibits ancient technology rebuild on basis of texts from the time. If you have an affinity for technology (even more if you don't) I highly recommend visiting the place and having a chat with the very helpful and nice staff there.
Most of the machines (including automatoi and dispensers as well as automatic doors) are applied hydraulics; if you keep in mind that those have been initially contructed severl millennia ago you'd better be stunned !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very charming small museum with welcoming staff that explains the inventions to you. For 7 euros a person, you get to see some incredible inventions of the ancient Greek civilization. We enjoyed the exhibition, which also gave us a calm experience away from the busy streets of Heraklion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ticket is not cheap, but the collection of interesting and fun reconstructions of ancient inventions compensates it. Kudos for the staff (guide and cutout in one). Good for families with children.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an excellent museum - small, but well over an hour of utterly fascinating content and very much worth the entry price. Every single exhibit explains an astounding invention from the ancient world, and the staff are always on hand to explain and demonstrate the machines. One word of warning: the demonstration models are very enticing but you aren't supposed to touch them yourself - ask a member of staff if you want a demo. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This museum has been my absolute favorite so far. It's absolutely fascinating to see the technology people were dreaming up so long ago. The staff was absolutely FANTASTIC. So knowledgeable. Perfect English. Excellent demonstrations that I never wanted to end. It's a small space but we spent almost two hours in there reading and marveling at the ancient designs brought to life. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip....and this was literally just a little place we found on google. If your science or history minded, you've gotta check this place out.
