Posta al centro del mare Egeo meridionale l'isola di Naxos risulta quasi tutta concentrata nella sua parte occidentale a ridosso della città di Chora nonchè capoluogo. Il suo piccolo porto è uno snodo fondamentale per i collegamenti col continente e le altre isole minori. Esiste anche un aeroporto ma date le sue dimensioni esigue non risulta idoneo ai voli internazionali. L'elemento che più di tutti identifica l'isola è " Portara, un arco squadrato in marmo bianco posto su di un isolotto alla sinistra del porto, che è ciò che rimane dell'antico tempio di Apollo. Le spiagge più belle dell'isola si trovano nella parte occidentale a sud di Chora, antistanti la vicina Paros. Agios Johannis, Agios Prokopis , Plaka Beach, queste le più importanti, sono tutte spiagge lunghe e sabbiose ed in parte attrezzate e soprattutto anche in alta stagione mai affollatissime. Nel complesso Naxos è un isola dove si può godere del mare in tutta tranquillità ed anche dal punto di vista economico risulta essere vantaggiosa rispetto ad altre isole più famose e più richieste. I prezzi di alloggi e ristorazione sono abbastanza contenuti così come i servizi in spiaggia. The largest of the Cyclades islands. Located in the center of the southern Aegean sea, the island of Naxos is almost entirely concentrated in its western part close to the city of Chora as well as the capital. Its small port is a fundamental hub for connections with the mainland and the other smaller islands. There is also an airport but given its small size it is not suitable for international flights. The element that most of all identifies the island is "Portara, a squared arch in white marble placed on an islet to the left of the port, which is what remains of the ancient temple of Apollo. The most beautiful beaches of the island they are located in the western part south of Chora, in front of nearby Paros. Agios Johannis, Agios Prokopis, Plaka Beach, these the most important, are all long and sandy beaches and partly equipped and above all even in high season never very crowded. Overall, Naxos is an island where you can enjoy the sea in complete tranquility and also from an economic point of view it is advantageous compared to other more famous and most requested islands. The prices of accommodation and restaurants are quite low as are the services on the beach.

Für schöne Stunden am Strand und im Meer empfiehlt sich insbesondere Plaka, wo viele Restaurants sogar kostenlose Liegen und kostenfreies WLAN anbieten. Shopping und vieles mehr ist in Naxos-Stadt möglich. Eine sehr nette Stadt, die auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert ist. Der Flughafen ist nicht weit entfernt, allerdings bieten derzeit nur SkyExpress und Olympic Flüge nach Athen an. Das liegt insbesondere an der kurzen Pisten. Ab dem Fährhafen sind viele Inseln und die Hauptstadt Athen mit dem Schiff erreichbar. Unbedingt die Preise der einzelnen Gesellschaften vergleichen, denn da gibt es erhebliche Preisunterschiede. Naxos is an impressive island for a nice bathing and cultural holiday. For nice hours on the beach and in the sea Plaka is especially recommended, where many restaurants even offer free beach chairs and free Wi-Fi. Shopping and much more is possible in Naxos Town. A very nice city, which is definitely worth a visit. The airport is not far away, but only SkyExpress and Olympic currently offer flights to Athens. This is especially due to the short runs. From the ferry port, many islands and the capital Athens can be reached by boat. Absolutely compare the prices of the individual companies, because there are significant price differences.

V	V Pret on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an unpleasant surprise at Naxos harbour! 50€ per night. When we decide that we will not stay we are charged 10€ for the 30 min we docked! This guy puts the 10 € in his pocket not giving us a receipt! Will never ever go there again! From all the harbours we visited on our sailing trip at the cyclades islands this was incredibly expensive (or is it corrupt?)??????!
