Naxos is the biggest of the Cyclades islands, so we planned 3 days for it which was quite enough.
The old town is so charming with its narrow winding streets starting down from the harbor all the way to the Castro up the hill.
Best time to explore is late afternoon before the sunset and at night as well

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Efficient and well-organized port with lots of ferries coming in and out. Short walk to the main bus station which takes you everywhere on the island. Naxos Island is much more than just Naxos Town so there's a lot to enjoy, especially if you like beaches.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well organised port and much better organisation and clarity of where to go than Mykonos port where we came from.
Taxi rank right outside. When departing Naxos on arrival at the port it is easy to know where to wait and your boat is going from. Ferry master gets everyone on and off quickly. We bought our ferry tickets on departure from Zasferries - they have a booth right near the harbour and it’s the same price to buy in person as online.
The area around the port itself is great to wander around and lots of cafes etc along the front and Old Town is right close by.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a lovely harbour where the ferry to other islands is departing. Many little shops and bars and restaurants have a quick bite and drink before hopping on your ferry or when you arrive
