★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is about as authentic a taverna experience as you are going to get. It’s a little off the main tourist route and as far as I can see is a butchers shop during the day and a taverna during the evening. There is a large menu but it appears only a few things are available each day depending on what the chef (which I think is the matriarch) has made that day. It is a properly family run place with three generations all pitching in, although admittedly the youngest kids seemed to be limited to ferrying napkins and other bits and bobs to the tables. The owners English is limited but enough to get by and give a basic description of each dish. The food was very good and the whole thing very enjoyable for the authenticity of the experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sifnos is called the "Island of the Cooks". if you need proof, this is the place to visit. The best Moussaka you will find on the Cyclades, and everything else homecooked and not prefabricated. Genuine housewife and -husband kitchen you don't find too often these days on the islands!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very honest local family run little tavern. Meat comes from their own farm. Grilled burgers were the best from few things we tried. If you are in Sifnos, give it a go - you’ll enjoy it.
