★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can never guess what’s in store for you as you enter this traditional coffee shop located in a small street close to the center of Athens. I’ve been here many times with friends, and they would always look at me in disbelief: “this can’t be the place”!
But this is really a piece of Crete, outside Crete. The moment you open the door, you’re leaving Athens like through a magic pathway that takes you straight to some little Cretan village.
Their food catalogue is otherworldly, it’s never ending... I like almost every dish, and everything tastes like it should. I feel at home at this place; the food, the people, the music, everything is authentic to a fault.
If I would voice a complaint, it’s that it’s a smoker’s paradise, so I just avoid coming on Saturday nights, when it’s really crowded. Other than that: perfection.
