C	Chris Petropanagiotakis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο Χριστιανικος Ναος στους προποδες του Απάνω Κάστρου αξίζει να τύχει της προσοχής σας μόλις 800 μέτρα από το κέντρο του κάστρου σε οριζόντια γραμμή ακολουθητε το μονοπάτι που οδηγεί στο Απάνω Κάστρο και θα τον βρείτε στα Βορειοδυτικά . Έχει την αρχιτεκτονική που συνηθίζεται στους προσκυνηματικούς ναούς είναι μονόκλιτη άνευ τρούλου και διαθέτει όμορφο αύλειο χώρο με θέα τη Χωρα της Ναξου και βρίσκεται πάνω από το χωριό Άνω Ποτάμια. Η ηλικία του εκ της αρχιτεκτονικής και το είδος δομήσεως αυτού χρονολογηται περί των πεντακοσίων πενήκοντα ετών.Η εκκλησία αυτή αξίζει της προσοχής σας. Σε αυτό συνάδουν και οι δυο μεγάλης αναθηματικης και αρχαιολογικης αξίας τοιχογραφίες που βρίσκονται σε αυτόν. Ο ναός είναι καλοσυντηρημένος διαθέτει τοιχογραφίες και βωμό πρωτοχριστιανικης εκκλησίας .Αξίζει να τον επισκευτητε διαθέτει ιστορικά κειμήλια και τοιχογραφίες της Παναγίας και του Χριστού βεβηλωμένες από τους Τούρκους κατακτητές την περίοδο της Τουρκοκρατίας , όπου έδωσαν για άλλη μια φορά δείγμα γραφής του πολιτισμού τους που μας εξάγουν πλέον με τις Τουρκικές τηλεοπτικές σειρές. Christian Church is only 800 meters from Upper Castle- Apano Kastro centre . This church is worth visiting since it has a very particular architecture and Bizantine wall paintings some of them exceptionally preserved, some others partially destroyed by Turks. It’s stands on its place for more than five hundreds and fifty years and merits your attention for it’s marvelous location architecture and simplicity! It’s is fully accessible all over the year and won’t let you down on paying this a visit on your way to the Upper Castle - Apano Kastro! The Christian Church at the foot of the Upper Castle is worth your attention just 800 meters from the center of the castle in a horizontal line follow the path that leads to the Upper Castle and you will find it in the Northwest. It has the architecture that is common in pilgrimage temples, is single-aisled without a dome and has a beautiful courtyard overlooking the town of Naxos and is located above the village of Ano Potamia. Its age from architecture and its type of construction dates back to about five hundred and fifty years. This church deserves your attention. Both murals of great votive and archaeological value that are in it are consistent with this. The church is well preserved and has frescoes and an altar of an early Christian church. It is worth visiting. It has historical relics and frescoes of the Virgin Mary and Christ desecrated by the Turkish conquerors during the Turkish occupation, where they once again gave us a sample of their civilization. with Turkish TV series. j	jorge garcia rey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It seems fairly easy to ignore this little church on the way to Apano Kastro, but our host Gilly made sure to remind us not to miss it, so we did not. It is a wonderful church with very impressive frescoes in better condition than most others we saw in the island. To get to the church without a 4x4, you will need to park the car on the main road from Chalki to Naxos, and then take a short walk (~10 mins) on a visible path (full of lavender when we visited in May).
