It is one of the old buildings of Elassona, there they say, during the Turkish occupation, the customs was the border to the north.

(review in Greek and English) Near the secondary schools of the city, this building was (in turn): Turkish customs 1881-1912 (liberation of the city), then the Greek Ministry of Finance rented it to a cigarette industry (1912-1926), then the tobacco tax office settled there until the end of the Second World War, and finally, there was the 2nd Primary School of Elassona (until 1960, when it was burned down and destroyed). It now houses the remarkable archaeological collection of Elassona Province.
