★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Παλουκόραχη είναι μια περιοχή άγνωστη στο ευρύ κοινό κοντά στο χωριό Σκάλα Μεσσηνίας. Αυτός ο λόφος υπήρξε ιστορικό μέρος καθώς ήταν το μέρος όπου κατά την περίοδο της Τουρκοκρατίας οι Τούρκοι ανασκολόπιζαν (παλούκωναν -εξ ου και το όνομά της) τους Έλληνες έτσι ώστε να τους φύγει από το μυαλό κάθε ιδέα για τυχόν επανάσταση εναντίον τους. Εκεί στέκει πλέον ένας παλιός ανεμόμυλος, πιθανότατα χτισμένος τη περίοδο της Ενετοκρατίας. Είναι κρίμα που τέτοια ιστορικά μέρη μένουν άγνωστα και δε προβάλλονται.
Palukorachi is an area unknown to the general public near the village of Skala Messinia. This hill was a historic part as it was the place where during the Turkish occupation the Turks were (by their name) resurrected by the Greeks so that any idea of any revolution against them could be removed from their minds. There is now an old windmill, probably built during the Venetian occupation. It is a pity that such historical places remain unknown and are not projected.
