Στην ανέγερση του νέου μεγάλου Ναού πρωτοστάτησε ο "Σύλλογος για την ανέγερση του Ι.Ν. Παμμεγίστων Ταξιαρχών" με Ιδρυτή και Πρόεδρο τον τότε Δήμαρχο Αδαμάντιο Αυγουστίδη. Ο Σύλλογος ιδρύθηκε το 1955 και ο Ναός θεμελιώθηκε το 1957 από την πριγκίπισσα Ειρήνη, κόρη της τότε βασιλικής οικογένειας. Είναι Ενοριακός Ναός. Από το 1955 μέχρι την αποπεράτωση του νέου οικοδομήματος (1964), ο Ναός στεγαζόταν σε ξύλινο παράπηγμα, δίπλα ακριβώς από το ομώνυμο παλιό Εκκλησάκι. Το 1969 δημοσιεύθηκε Β. Διάταγμα με το οποίο οι Άγιοι Ταξιάρχες ονομάστηκαν Πολιούχοι και Προστάτες του Κορυδαλλού.
Η Εκκλησία στις 8 Νοεμβρίου γιορτάζει τη σύναξη των Παμμέγιστων αρχαγγέλων Μιχαήλ και Γαβριήλ, καθώς και των υπολοίπων Ασωμάτων και Ουράνιων Αγγελικών Ταγμάτων.
The imposing Temple of the Korydallos Patriarchs and in front the old Temple of the Holy Asomites (Taxiarches). In the construction of the new great Temple, the "Association for the erection of the Infamous Taxi Brigades" was pioneered by the then Mayor Adamantios Avgoustidis, Founder and President. The Association was founded in 1955 and the Temple was founded in 1957 by Princess Eirini, daughter of the then royal family. It is a Parish Temple. From 1955 until the completion of the new building (1964), the church was housed in a wooden shack, next to the old homonymous church. In 1969, the Second Decree was published by which the Holy Taxiarchs were named Korydallos' Patriots and Protectors.
On November 8, the Church celebrates the gathering of the Almighty Archangels Michael and Gabriel, as well as the rest of the Asomites and Heavenly Angels.
