Επιβλητική ακόμη και σήμερα, είναι η υψηλότερη γέφυρα της χώρας (99 μέτρα). Πλησίον της Γέφυρας της Παπαδιάς βρίσκεται η σήραγγα του Μπράλλου, η οποία έχει μήκος 2.109 μ. και επί δεκαετίες ήταν η μακρύτερη σιδηροδρομική σήραγγα στην Ελλάδα. Η ονομασία της προέρχεται από λαϊκούς θρύλους της περιοχής. Λέγεται ότι σε κάποιο γειτονικό χωριό μια παπαδιά σκότωσε τον γιο της χωρίς να το ξέρει και, όταν το αντιλήφθηκε, έπεσε σε ένα βάραθρο και αυτοκτόνησε. Σύμφωνα με άλλον θρύλο, στην περιοχή αυτή είχε το τσιφλίκι της μια χήρα παπαδιά που το υπερασπίστηκε σθεναρά όταν πήγαν να της το πάρουν οι Τούρκοι και γι αυτό τη σκότωσαν. The metal bridge of Papadia (or Brallo) was built between 1904 and 1906 by designs drawn by Italian engineers and executed by Italian craftsmen. It was undoubtedly the most important and largest technical project at the time it was built. Since then it has been blown up and demolished twice: by the British in 1941 and by the Germans in 1944. Impressive even today, it is the highest bridge in the country (99 meters). Near the Papadia Bridge is the Brallo tunnel, which is 2,109 m long and for decades was the longest railway tunnel in Greece. Its name comes from folk legends of the area. It is said that in a neighboring village a priestess killed her son without knowing it and, when she realized this, she fell into an abyss and committed suicide. According to another legend, in this area a widow of a poppy had her tsifliki who strongly defended it when the Turks went to take it from her and that is why they killed her.
