Authentic tavern just before the waterfall in Maradaki. Within walking distance of Tsoutsouras in about 45 minutes. Delicious cheap food. Very hospitable host couple. He is looking for the real Crete must go there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ένα διαμαντακι κρυμμένο μέσα στα βουνά και συγχρόνως δίπλα σε μαγική παραλία! Πλατάνια, τρεχούμενο νερό και καταπληκτικοί μεζέδες στη δροσιά! Πάνω απ' όλα ζεστοί και φιλόξενοι άνθρωποι. Μετά τη 30λεπτη διαδρομή μας από το βραχώδες μονοπάτι, μάς φάνηκε σαν ανταμοιβή τόσο το τοπίο όσο και οι άνθρωποί του.
A little diamond hidden in the mountains and at the same time next to a magical beach! Plane trees, running water and amazing appetizers in the coolness! Above all, warm and hospitable people. After our 30-minute walk along the rocky path, both the landscape and its people seemed like a reward.

Incredible experience! A quiet fishing village, a perfect hostess, pure products, all fresh, Greek food of the hour. You feel at home in this little cafe. It is worth the hike to get there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Totally honest and genuine small Greek taverna. No menu, communication by google translate but excellent simple home cooked food. We walked the coast path from tsoutsouras to Aghios Nikitas and we thought nothing was open in the tiny hamlet of Maridaki so when we came across this place it was an oasis. It is unsigned from the path but walk towards the gorge and magnificent waterfall. Highly recommended.
