Varkiza Athens: The sandy beach of Varkiza is pretty far from the city centre but you are guaranteed a pleasant trip. It is one of the less crowded beaches with all the beach facilities like volley courts, snack bars and a play area for the children. The beach is easily reachable by bus, directly from the town centre. The town of Varkiza is one of the most popular areas in the southern suburbs, quite lively during the summer season. It is extremely developed with plenty of cafes and nice restaurants lying around the coast. The biggest part of Varkiza includes beautiful complexes and newly built villas with a terrific view to the sea. It is a nice trip for most of the Athenians, especially during the weekends.
