Shortly before the port of Lendas. According to myth, Pasifai made her baths here.

Loutra is located 3 km east of the coastal resort of Lentas, and 77 km south of Heraklion. To the east it is protected by Capo Trafoulas and that's where the port of Lentas was built. Near the port there are some coves, of coarse sand and rocky bottoms, ideal for observation with the mask and for underwater fishing. The one in Loutra is not an organized beach and does not attract many people, while nearby there are few small restaurants and rooms for rent. Before the construction of the port of Lentas, the beach of Loutra was very popular with nudists. Lately, nudists have fallen in number as they feel less comfortable now. The small beach further west, and not near the port, is called the Bath of Pasiphae or Hammam. This name derives from a legend that at the time of his wife, King Minos and Pasiphae, the women bathed here in the company of their queen. Instead, Minosse and his men bathed at the nearby Trafoulas beach, located east of the port of Loutra. Near Loutra it is worth visiting the picturesque church of Our Lady, carved into the rock, on the construction of which there is a legend. According to legend, there was once a shepherd who found the icon of the Virgin Mary on a rock near Loutra, near a canyon. After making the fact popular, the icon was moved to a church in the nearby Messara valley. However, someone stole the icon without anyone finding the thief. When one day the pastor revisited the area of the find, the icon was found in the exact same spot as before! To thank the Virgin Mary for this miracle, the pastor decided to build a chapel inside the rock to which it was found. But for the construction of the church he would have had to bring the necessary water from the valley, which was very difficult. Then the Madonna took pity on them and let the water flow from the bare rock. For this reason the icons found inside the church depict the Madonna next to water courses

A beautiful little-visited beach with virtually no waves near Lendas, which has many tourists and a hectic sea. The beach is suitable for snorkeling, a fairly diverse underwater world and shallow. On the beach there is where to settle in the shade. The beach is rocky, it is advisable to use beach shoes. Above the beach on a hill is the wonderful Lybiko tavern.

Lovely quiet beach. It's clean on the beach but there are a lot of algae on the rocks in the water so the floor is very slippery and the water isn't as clear as some of the other beaches.

It was calm, quiet and restful but the ocean was rocky and the algae on the underwater rocks made it quite treacherous for relaxed times in the water. The water, though, was pretty clear and comfortably warm. The beach itself is not so glamorous or photogenic but the above reasons made it a positive experience. A far better beach is just around the corner. I'd recommend that instead.
