Check in area is lovely. Efficient clean and the facilities are great. However the refugee situation is terrible. It is a constant battle for the authorities and the poor lorry drivers. This could be solved by erecting higher fencing with razor wire on the top. This has to be a more cost effective alternative to the constant patrols by the police and security services.

I arrived at Patras from Brindisi in Italy when I was travelling Europe by rail. I used Grimaldi Lines ferry and everything went smoothly and I remember my trip fondly, we slept out on the top deck, you probably can't do that now. Getting from the docks to the station was a doddle.

Fantastic, Cannot thank them enough. On my return to Ancona, the Patras guys where truelly amazing. I was late! Really needed to catch the 17 30. Anek cargo shipping guys where incredible, they took the stress from being late ,helped with my PLF sorted it all out. Made me laugh too, suggesting I was a baddie in a Western movie or an assassin etc , hilarious yet professional. After which Greek birder police found to guys hanging onto my truck! One above the cab spoiler and one under the back of the truck! Sureal and shocking, I caught the boat. THANKYOU ANEK CARGO

So, walking in is not the most user friendly option. It’s not very obvious where the passenger terminal is from outside on the main road, as there is a long fence forcing you to enter either to the north or south and the passenger terminal is sort of in between both entrances and the view can be quite obscured as you walk. Once in, the terminal is quite new and there is a (very) mini mart selling fresh fruits and snacks. A coffee shop upstairs with ok prices. No terminal WiFi though.
