★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful bath house known colloquially as the "Jewish bath" with the word for Jewish being in Arabic. "yehoudi hamam" ... Well, bath is in Arabic too but that's normal. There yehoudi part is unusual.

This building, located in the Jewish district, was known by various names: Pazar Hamam (Bazaar Bath) or Pazari Kebir Hamam (Great Bazaar Bath) or Halil Aga Hamam, after its founder. It was constructed as a double bath, with two separate sections, one for men and one for women.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is an amazing construction in the middle if the city center but unfortunately it took me a while to figure out it's name and function. Nowadays it is called Pazar Hamam (hamam means hot bath in turkish), which is due to its location. The original name of this hamam is Yahudi Hamam, which means Jewish Hamam.
It is a shame to see this building without function, lonely and abandoned in the middle of the city, which is an enrichment to the eclectic architecture of Thessaloniki.
I imagine here an art gallery. Let's see what the future will show us.
