★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ιστορικό σημείο, σύμφωνα με την "ιστορία" ο Λάμπρος Κατσώνης έσυρε σε αυτό το στενό σημείο το καράβι του για να μπορέσει να ξεφύγει από τους Τούρκους που τον κυνηγούσαν. Τα κατάφερε χρησιμοποιώντας κορμούς δέντρων και λίπος χοίρων. Οι Τούρκοι σε αντίποινα έκαψαν το λιμάνι.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Τούρκοι τον περικύκλωσαν τον Λάμπρο Κατσώνη στη Τζιά, όπου είχε καταφύγει για ανασυγκρότηση. Τον εγκλώβισαν με 26 πλοία στο «Στενό της Κόκκας», απέναντι από το Βουρκάρι. Σύμφωνα με τον θρύλο, ο αποφασιστικός Κατσώνης, αντί να παραδοθεί, έσυρε με τη βοήθεια των ανδρών του το πλοίο του πάνω από τη στενή λωρίδα γης χρησιμοποιώντας κορμούς δέντρων αλειμμένων με χοιρινό λίπος και απέδρασε στην ανοιχτή θάλασσα!...
Όταν ξημέρωσε, οι Τούρκοι έμειναν κατάπληκτοι, καθώς συνειδητοποίησαν ότι ο δαιμόνιος καπετάνιος τους είχε ξεφύγει. Πήραν εκδίκηση, πυρπολώντας το λιμάνι της Τζιάς και σφάζοντας εκατοντάδες κατοίκους....
